Elaine Miller is a Senior Initiative Manager at NEEA responsible for NEEA’s commercial lighting initiatives. In this role, she works closely with local utilities to tackle market barriers to energy-efficient lighting solutions and help transform the commercial lighting market. These efforts include providing advanced training for trade allies to deliver more advanced lighting retrofits, accelerating the market adoption of luminaire level lighting controls, and supporting Northwest electrical distributors to shift their stocking and sales practices toward more efficient lighting.
Elaine has spent the last 16 years dedicated to energy efficiency and environmental issues, primarily in the commercial building arena. During her tenure at NEEA, she has been a marketing and program manager balancing stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, marketing and program management responsibilities. Elaine previously managed NEEA’s BetterBricks marketing efforts and over the last three years has focused on tackling the awesomely rapidly changing and challenging lighting market.
Elaine has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Chinese Studies from the University of California, San Diego. In her free time she enjoys riding her bike and exploring the great northwest outdoors with her young daughter. She is also working on her (long-time) goal of learning Mandarin Chinese and making dumplings.
