Ken Baker has been working in building energy efficiency since 1978. His 1982 Master of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho focused on energy and resource efficient construction techniques and the use of local-based materials to create vernacular and sustainable buildings.
He is an experienced educator, facilitator, mediator and writer. Ken has taught energy code compliance and implementation strategies throughout the U.S. and was contracted by Pacific Northwest National Lab to create a national Compliance, Implementation and Evaluation Guide for the IECC in 2012.
He has worked on energy code development and implementation continuously since 1986 and has led the Idaho Energy Code Collaborative since its inception in year 2000.
Since the fall of 2013 Ken has served as the Senior Manager of Codes and Standards for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.
Ken enjoys many outdoor activities including, riding his horse, walking his dog, and building new hideouts on the Boise acreage.
