NEEA Ranked in Top 100 Green Companies to Work for in Oregon

Portland, Ore.The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is pleased to be ranked forty-second in the top hundred “green” companies to work for in Oregon. Oregon Business Magazine conducts these rankings annually, selecting the winners based on results of an employee survey and an independent assessment of the employers’ workplace sustainability practices.

“On behalf of NEEA’s funders and stakeholders, we are honored and humbled to be in the company of the 100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon,” said Susan E. Stratton, NEEA’s executive director. “Our shared vision is that energy efficiency is key to a vibrant sustainable Northwest, so this award is validation that we are walking our talk every day.”

NEEA’s workplace practices include offering the option of a flexible schedule, dedicating professional development funds to each employee, and encouraging volunteer and community involvement. NEEA’s headquarters are in a LEED Platinum CI rated, high-performance office that uses 53% less energy than required by Oregon code. The space also employs water-efficiency measures and daylighting and lighting controls that increase the comfort and productivity for its employees.

NEEA has earned a number of sustainability-related honors recently, including the 2012 Sloan Award for Workplace Excellence, a BEST Award for Sustainability, and a Silver Certification from Sustainability at Work. NEEA was ranked nineteenth in the 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For in Oregon in 2012.
