The region is facing substantial growth in its conservation goals over the next 20 years. More than ever, the region is looking to increase its information-sharing, coordination and collaboration efforts to meet these aggressive energy saving goals.
In 2008 and 2009, NEEA and the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) both conducted independent outreach to stakeholders who confirmed this and expressed a desire for an online resource to help the region in these efforts. Working in concert with the region’s utilities, NEEA and BPA began to develop this resource for the Northwest.
What is Conduit?
Conduit
, which is brought to the region by NEEA with additional support from BPA, is an online resource that facilitates information-sharing, coordination and collaboration among energy efficiency professionals in the Northwest. Conduit will help energy efficiency professionals:
Share best practices
Discuss current topics
Collaborate and share documents
Promote events
Learn about new technologies
Network with peers
Keep up with energy efficiency trends
How Conduit Works
Just like other professional websites such as LinkedIn, users create an account and enter basic information about themselves (organization, responsibilities, expertise, etc.) that can be shared with the community. Registered users can then upload and download documents and files, engage in discussions, share web links, and more. Registered users can also join or form groups that can be used to coordinate and collaborate on work by using their dedicated group page on Conduit to pin recent files, make announcements, solicit feedback on working documents, start discussions, and share articles or events.
