Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting
March 6, 2012 | Seattle, WA
NEEA is hosting a one-day symposium on the future of solid-state municipal streetlights. The event coincides with a visual streetlight test sponsored by NEEA, the City of Seattle and others that will measure the performance of SSL streetlights in wet pavement conditions.
Registration for the seminar will be open to municipalities and utilities from the Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana) and will include a reception following the event and an opportunity to participate in all or part of the visual streetlight test that evening.
SSL streetlights are still relatively new with no long-term history. New products arrive on the market almost every day, making the decision to upgrade difficult and risky. At this symposium, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and hear from your peers and lighting experts as they discuss:
- updates on controls and luminaires
- results of recent studies and the current test conducted in Seattle
- technical and non-technical drivers and barriers for upgrades
- making the business case for SSL
- case studies and lessons learned from municipalities
If you, your city, or your utility are considering or would like to learn more about solid-state streetlights, please contact Mark Rehley and we will send you an invitation to the symposium.
