Strategic Plan Participation

Current Status of NEEA's Strategic Plan
On April 23, 2009 NEEA's Board of Directors approved the 2010-2014 Strategic Plan and Business Plan.

Background
For more than a decade the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) has been working to help transform markets to help the Northwest increase energy efficiency. Given the continually evolving Northwest energy landscape and increased demand for energy efficiency, it was time to take a fresh look at NEEA’s regional role in securing this low-cost resource. Over the last year, NEEA engaged stakeholders in numerous rounds of discussion to confirm where the region is headed with energy efficiency and how NEEA can deliver the greatest value to the region. NEEA took this feedback and used it to draft its 2010-2014 Strategic Plan, which was used to inform the creation of NEEA's 2010-2014 Business Plan.

Overview of How the Outreach Process Worked
NEEA sought to gain extensive input from its stakeholders.  This extensive outreach included:

  • In-person meetings at 58 organizations
  • Nearly 200 participants at seven regional workshops
  • 114 completed online surveys.

NEEA also posted all draft documents and summaries of its outreach and launched an online forum to allow the public to provide further feedback. Once the first draft of the strategic plan was posted, NEEA sought a secondary round of feedback through:

  • A second survey
  • NEEA's newly launched forum
  • Two public regional conference calls
  • Individual outreach.

With this feedback from its stakeholders, NEEA drafted a revised version of the Draft Strategic Plan. Because NEEA exists for the benefit of regional stakeholders and all consumers of energy in the region, your input is critical to our continued success. Thank you for all your input and participation through this strategic planning process.

The Strategic Plan
NEEA's Board of Directors agreed on October 29 to move forward with the Strategic Plan in order to influence the 2010-2015 Business Plan. The NEEA Strategic Plan defines NEEA’s mission, values, guiding principles, key strategies and organizational goals for the long-term. In short, the NEEA Strategic Plan sets the direction for NEEA’s future efforts. NEEA's Board of Directors will vote on adopting the Strategic and Business Plans as one in 2009.
