Residential Building Stock Assessment: Factsheet
Learn how you can make a difference to the Northwest's energy future!
Thank you for your interest in NEEA and our regional effort!
The
Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)
, supported by the region’s electric utilities, is conducting a comprehensive research study of energy
efficiency in Pacific Northwest residential buildings – officially called Residential Building Stock Assessment (RBSA). This study will inform future Pacific Northwest energy planning efforts. Study results will be used to identify energy efficiency utility programs and rebates offered by the region’s utilities, the
Energy Trust of Oregon
and the
Bonneville Power Administration
.

Refrigerator Energy Use Study
The
Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)
, supported by the region's electric utilities, is conducting a refrigerator energy use study across the Pacific Northwest. We are measuring the energy use of refrigerator automatic icemakers in 80 homes around the region. This study will help NEEA see how modern refrigerator icemakers use energy, inform national refrigerator energy efficiency standards, and assist future energy planning in our region.
People who participated in the
Residential Building Stock Assessment
that have a qualifying refrigerator may be eligible to participate. We will be contacting people in March and April 2012 to schedule installations.

Regional Laundry Energy Use Study
The
Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)
, supported by the region’s electric utilities, is conducting a laundry energy use study across the Pacific Northwest. We are measuring clothes washer and dryer energy use in 50 homes around the region. This study will help NEEA see how modern clothes washers and dryers use energy, inform national dryer energy efficiency standards and assist future energy planning in our region. This study will also help regional energy planning and regional utilities that want to promote efficient dryers.
People who participated in the
Residential Building Stock Assessment
that have qualifying laundry equipment may be eligible to participate. We will be contacting people between January and March 2012 to schedule installations.

Residential Building Stock Assessment Study
NEEA initially contacted potential participants for this study in April and May 2011 with a short phone survey. In some areas, phone survey calls may extend through July 2011. The phone survey collected basic information on energy use and appliances. A subset of eligible homes identified in the phone survey will be called between June and December 2011 to schedule onsite home energy use surveys and, in some cases, more in-depth energy reviews of the homes. Over 1,700 homes within the Northwest will be visited.
