Powered by Collaboration

More than 25 years ago, the energy-efficiency community in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington created NEEA based on a shared belief that we can accomplish so much more together than apart. That collaborative drive remains essential to our organizational spirit and philosophy. In addition to uniting the efforts of more than 140 utilities and energy-efficiency organizations across the Northwest, the alliance’s superpower is the day-to-day union of talent, brainpower, and innovative thinking of motivated professionals like you.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at NEEA

NEEA is an alliance of utilities that pools resources and shares risks to transform the market for energy efficiency to the benefit of consumers in the Northwest. Market transformation is the destination. Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are essential to getting there.
NEEA believes DEI is essential to successfully and sustainably transforming markets for energy efficiency. It is at the heart of NEEA's mission to represent the Northwest's collective voice and transform the market for the benefit of all consumers in the Northwest. NEEA strives to be an active part of a regional business culture that achieves DEI in its employees and business partners.
In 2021, NEEA formally adopted a strategic DEI Plan to guide this work. Since that time, NEEA has hired an internal DEI program manager and launched the five internal initiatives with 100% of NEEA’s executive leadership team acting as sponsors, 30% of staff involved in helping lead these initiatives, and nearly 90% of staff participating.

NEEA provides excellent professional development opportunities tailored to my needs. I enrolled in Portland State University's "Smart Grid and Sustainability" class. I'm learning a ton and able to explore other areas of interest such as energy justice and how energy impacts disadvantaged communities. All this will make my contributions at NEEA more informed.
