During this meeting, NEEA and Cadeo Group presented the results of an 8-month research effort on heat pump improvements that are being pursued for future potential inclusion in the EPA ENERGY STAR most efficient specification. The work includes a summary of current evidence, description, specification, estimated savings and method(s) of product identification.
The project engaged over 30 heat pump subject matter experts from research labs, manufacturers and energy efficiency organizations. The outcome of this work is to present workplans for each improvement that define activities that could be undertaken to fill knowledge gaps and enable NEEA and others to present the case to EPA and CEE for inclusion in their specifications and utility to leverage for their incentive programs.
