The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) supported the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) with this CTA 2045 Water Heating Demonstration project. The project sought to create a market transformation plan that would put the Northwest on a path to make hot water heating load shifting simple for customers without affecting their lifestyle. To do this, the study deployed CTA 2045 demand response communication modules, on 178 Heat Pump Water heaters and 98 Electric Resistance water heaters to demonstrate the savings, repeatability and a path forward for the region to adopt it as a standard.
NEEA supported this report by providing market transformation guidance and support, market intelligence and water heater delivery infrastructure support.
