As part of the High-Performance HVAC initiative, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) contracted with Cadeo Group to conduct qualitative market research on Very High Efficiency Dedicated Outside Air Systems (VHE DOAS). The objectives of the study were to 1) Better understand how decisions regarding HVAC systems are carried out from initial conception to installation and; 2) Learn how architects, engineers and general contractors think about the components of DOAS systems.
The report presents findings of a secondary literature review and interviews with architects, engineers, and general contractors completed between November 2019 and February 2020. These findings will allow NEEA to better understand barriers and opportunities for VHE DOAS in the commercial new construction and major retrofit markets.
