Q3 2022 was yet another busy time for NEEA’s Codes and Standards team. Code development, at both the state and national level, was very active, and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) continued to release additional product efficiency standard rulemakings. Of note, the final draft of the Washington State Energy Code — Commercial was posted, and the first draft of the residential code was posted in Q2 2022. The 2024 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) development process continued in Q3 2022 with the residential and commercial committees finalizing an initial draft of the code.
