Washington State Commercial Energy Code Technical Roadmap Report

In 2020, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and the Washington State Department of Commerce developed a Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) Technical Roadmap (the Roadmap). The Roadmap is intended to assist Washington State in the achievement of its legislative goal to reduce annual net site energy consumption for commercial buildings by 70% relative to the 2006 WSEC under the 2030 energy code. The Roadmap identifies a set of technologies and building strategies to achieve this 2030 goal and is intended to create a pool of measures that can guide the code development process over the next four code cycles. The Roadmap focuses on four building types: Office, Retail, K-12 School and Multifamily.

NEEA contracted with NORESCO to conduct the Washington State Commercial Energy Code Technical Roadmap Report, which seeks to review the viability of the suggested technologies and building strategies within the Roadmap to achieve the 2030 goal.
