The value of adjustable speed control in industrial applications is well proven by the increasing number of installations in which induction motors are powered by variable frequency drives (VFD’s).  Adjustable speed drives can provide energy savings and improve process control.  This is especially true for systems such as fans and pumps where flow control is achieved by baffles and valves.
