Heat Pumps
Residential
Recorded June 23, 2026 – Room Heat Pumps are an emerging variant on the classic room air conditioner. The key difference is that new systems have defrost capability and can operate at temperatures below zero Fahrenheit. This presentation covers an update on current products in the market and high-level findings from field studies conducted in 2022 and 2025-6 and energy savings estimates. Savings estimates presented are based on field and lab data supported energy modeling of 4 different room heat pump archetypes across 12 different climates, 4 building types, 3 different insulations levels and most importantly different occupant behaviors observed from recent field data.
