As part of its Extended Motor Products (XMP) program, the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) contracted with Johnson Consulting Group to conduct a Market Test Assessment of the XMP Pump and Circulator Manufacturers' Representative Pilot. The study assessed the overall effectiveness of the program’s manufacturer representative-focused activities and the likelihood that the pilot activities being tested in the market will achieve program goals if broadly adopted.
Between August and October 2021, Johnson Consulting Group reviewed program documents and relevant published literature, reviewed data collected through the program, and interviewed program staff and participating manufacturers’ representatives. Johnson Consulting Group found that NEEA staff successfully engage manufacturers’ representatives through customized incentives and program support and found initial qualitative evidence of the program’s influence on participants’ sales practices.
