      • Connected Commissioning Heat Pumps (Thursday, Aug. 8 from 2-4 p.m.)
Description: Heat pump manufacturers are developing solutions that guide contractors and verify installation. We see a path forward to qualifying heat pumps capable of self-commissioning and verification. This is essential for variable speed heat pumps whose efficiency depends on critical refrigerant charge, control settings and air flow. Creating a national alignment can reduce program administrative costs, increase system performance, longevity, and customer satisfaction. NEEA, NYSERDA, NREL and PNNL seek your input on how to establish a test and qualified products list that differentiates those solutions which deliver real utility, customer, and contractor value.

      • Rooftop Units – the Box No One is Talking About (Monday, Aug. 5 from 2-3 p.m.)

Description: Rooftop Units (RTUs) are the most common commercial HVAC system, serving 60% of the commercial floor area and consuming 20% of the total commercial building energy use nationally! Yet, efficiency gains have been minimal, especially on the heating side, which has remained at 80% efficient for the last 30 years. Heat pump RTUs provide a huge opportunity, but we must work together to seize this opportunity to drive the most impact. MN-CEE hosts this session to discuss how we can work together to create an RTU with a better box, better ventilation, and better performance as we transition to heat pump RTUs.

      Discussion Questions:

      1. How can we collaborate to drive change in the RTU market?
      1. What has been your experience with RTU programs to date, what opportunities and barriers do you see going forward?
      1. What information and resources would be helpful to launch, update, or drive participation into RTU programs
